Public Safety
Public Safety- Youth Violence Prevention.
Public safety remains a top priority. Since 2021, we have proudly expanded our emergency services with 26 BSO Law Enforcement and Fire Rescue first responders to ensure a safer community. Yet, homicide remains the 2nd leading cause of death and suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death amongst youth ages 10-24. We must prioritize youth violence prevention programs and forge partnerships with our community stakeholders, schools, and district leaders to enhance proactive initiatives that mitigate youth violence in our community. Utilizing the research from my dissertation, I will work in collaboration with BSO and our Broward County Public School leaders to fight for evidence-based youth violence prevention programs in our city. Early intervention is the key to a safer community.
Infrastructure
We are experiencing unprecedented floods throughout our neighborhoods and communities. It is crucial that we continue to prioritize investments in vital city-wide infrastructure and upgrades to drainage systems. Our priority must be laser focused on implementing the new Stormwater Master Plan that mitigates new flooding challenges through investing in the equipment and improvements needed for our stormwater drainage systems. Your voice is vital to ensuring we specifically address the flooding concerns in your neighborhood. Champion for Community Unity
Our schools and local businesses are the lifeblood of our community. Building strong partnerships with our community stakeholders, schools, and small businesses is crucial to building a brighter future in Dania Beach. Over the last three years, I have championed strategic partnerships and initiatives aimed at building a brighter future for Dania Beach.
Funding Success
As your City Commissioner and 2nd Vice President of the Broward League of Cities, I’ve advocated for Dania Beach on both county and state levels. This has led to securing over $5.3 million in state funding for critical infrastructure and stormwater projects, protecting our neighborhoods from flooding. We’ve also invested 100M in infrastructure improvements and 55M in park renovations.

Unprecedented improvements and investment to our award winning “blue-wave beach” have our city’s diamond on track to reach its potential of becoming a world-class beach! Since my first day in office, making improvements to our beach was a top priority. Ensuring beach renovations and upgrades were a part of the unanimously adopted strategic plan was nonnegotiable. During the last 3 years we have made the following achievements:

Public art serves as a powerful tool for promoting cultural identity, fostering community engagement, and contributing to economic and urban development. By integrating art into public spaces in Dania Beach, we have begun to create a vibrant and dynamic environment that enriches the lives of residents and visitors for the first time in the city’s 120 year history!
Health & Wellness
A healthy community is a wealthy community! I am focused on creating a healthy community that sets a foundation for social harmony, community unity, and a higher quality of life for Dania Beach residents. I have championed the following health and wellness initiatives to move towards building longevity through promoting a healthier lifestyle.
