Keep Dania Beach Pristine

Unprecedented improvements and investment to our award winning “blue-wave beach” have our city’s diamond on track to reach its potential of becoming a world-class beach! Since my first day in office, making improvements to our beach was a top priority. Ensuring beach renovations and upgrades were a part of the unanimously adopted strategic plan was nonnegotiable. During the last 3 years we have made the following achievements:

Beach and Marine Life Initiatives

  • Championed the Beach Rangers division to enforce Ocean Park Ordinances including no cigarettes permitted on the beach.

  • We have added 4 new environmentally sustainable Dania Beach Branded vibrantly colored lifeguard towers,

  •  invested over 1.2 million in pier renovations and $870,000 for the new Tootie Adler Park

  • Achieved full compliance with turtle lighting standards.

  • Spearheaded Broward County’s first-ever Born Learning Trail, creating educational opportunities for families

  • Installed the first mural & public art on the beach

  • Finalized permitting to begin construction for the new Lucky Fish Bar & Grill.

  • Sponsored first Climate Leadership Summit to accelerate a collaborative effort to build a resilient zero carbon community.

  • Community has removed over 3,000 pounds of trash from our coastline

I am honored and proud to champion the Keep Dania Beach Pristine initiative that has been met with unprecedented success. Implementing the City’s first Beach Clean Up stations and hosting annual events with community partners and vendors that bring all segments of the community together to advocate for the importance of resiliency & sustainability of our beach and marine life for future generations.

We are not done! The constant threat of unpredictable storms, sea-level rise, and King Tides bring additional challenges that require proactive measures to address beach erosion and build a sustainable resilient community. As the City’s first sponsor for Broward County’s Climate Change Summit in 2022, I am committed to ensuring communication and partnerships with our neighboring cities and counties to work towards collaborative long-term solutions for the protection of our coastal communities.
